At least 1 dead in crash on S. MLK Blvd and Curnow Rd: CHP

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — At least one person died and three juvenile passengers sustained major injuries in a crash southeast of Greenfield on Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol Incident Page.

The crash was reported by CHP at the intersection of Cottonwood and Curnow Roads around 9 p.m. The vehicle was traveling eastbound on Curnow Road. For reasons unknown, the vehicle failed to stop at the T-intersection and left the road and struck a dirt berm from Central Branch Kern Island Canal.

The 25-year-old driver of the vehicle sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The three juvenile passengers in the car sustained major injuries and were taken to Kern Medical, according to CHP.

Officials are still investigating if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
