1 dead, 1 airlifted in Dillon County crash on Highway 301, highway patrol says

DILLON COUNTY, S.C (WBTW) — At least one person is dead following a crash Thursday afternoon on Highway 301, Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley confirmed to News13.

The crash occurred at about 12:58 p.m. on Highway 301 near Latta. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

The driver of a 2005 tractor trailer freight liner was traveling south on Highway 301 when a 2019 Ford transit traveling north crossed the center line and hit the tractor trailer head on, highway patrol said.

The driver of the tractor trailer was airlifted to a local hospital and the driver of the 2019 Ford transit died of their injuries on the scene, highway patrol said.
