Miami County deputies, Piqua fire, and Fletcher fire were dispatched to the intersection of Brokaw Road and North Piqua-Lockington Road at around 1:45 a.m. on reports of a single-vehicle crash with injuries, Piqua city dispatch confirmed to News Center 7.

When deputies and firefighters arrived on scene, they found the vehicle off the roadway and “fully engulfed” in flames with “heavy damage,” first responders stated over emergency scanners. They were able to extinguish the fire by 2:04 a.m.

At least one person was injured in the crash, prompting a medical response. The injured was taken to Kettering Health Piqua where crews requested a CareFlight transportation to another medical facility.
