At Least 3 Dead After Possible Tornado Rips Through Central Alabama

At least three people were reported dead in Pickens County, Alabama, on January 11 after a possible tornado ripped through the area, the National Weather Service Birmingham said.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were also in place with wind gusts of up to 56 mph.

There were over 13,000 people without power in central Alabama; 7,100 in Tuscaloosa County, 1,650 in Sumter County and 1,700 in Pickens County, WVTM said.
