At Least One Dead as Damaging Storm Hits Sydney Area

Police in New South Wales said at least one person was killed and two critically injured during a storm that lashed Sydney’s Northern Beaches on December 19.

Emergency services received multiple reports of storm damage across the affected area, police said. Among them was a call to a carpark on Ocean Street, in Narrabeen, after a tree and powerlines had come down. One person there was killed, and two were taken to hospital, police said.
