Lebanon Salvation Army exceeds annual goal; raises over $100,000

LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) — The Lebanon Salvation Army recently announced that its Annual Red Kettle Campaign has exceeded this year’s goal.

Last year in 2023, abc27 news reported that the Lebanon Salvation Army had raised just over $93,000 during its annual Red Kettle Campaign. This year, the Lebanon Salvation Army surpassed their goal and raised $106,000.

“This is just one demonstration of how the funds keep LOVE GOING BEYOND CHRISTMAS and how blessed we are to live in a community that opens their hearts and wallets to people in need,” Capt. Ivonne Rodriguez said. “We were also in the midst of our Angel Tree Program that provides gifts and food to families in need as well as our Senior Food Box distribution. Every donation helps us to “Doing the Most Good.”

Like last year’s event, the Lebanon Salvation Army held a friendly team competition, called the Battle of the Bells, to see who could collect more donations in their Kettles during the fundraising season.

The winning teams of this year’s event are:

  • “Community Organization/Group Bell Ringing Team Trophy”, Team Chaundy

  • “Financial Institution Bell Ringing Trophy”, Jonestown Bank and Trust

  • “Religious Organization Bell Ringing Trophy, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Lebanon

  • “Youth Organization Bell Ringing Trophy”, Northern Lebanon Cross Country Team

  • “Lebanon Valley College Team Bell Ringing Trophy”, LVC Men’s Lacrosse Team

“The Lebanon Salvation Army Corps is very grateful to the many individuals, organizations and groups who made this year’s fundraising campaign successful,” Capt. Marlon Rodriguez, Commanding Officer of the Lebanon Salvation Army said. “Combined with our on-line virtual kettle campaign, our kettles will be able to DO THE MOST GOOD in our county.”
