Lebanon and Zionsville swim team pick up wins

Jan. 4—The Lebanon and Zionsville swimming and diving teams each picked up some wins against conference opponents on Tuesday night.

Lebanon hosted Danville, winning the boys meet 108-78 and the girls winning 103-63.

For the girls, the Tigers went 1-2 in the four events. In 200-free, with Paige Howard winning in 2:22.42 and Bea Johnson was second in 2:26.40. Those two also went 1-2 in the 100-free, with Howard going 1:02.75 and Johnson going 1:07.24. Dial won the 50-free in 27.27 and Avila was second in 29.03. Dial led another 1-2 in the backstroke, winning in 1:06.71, with Stevens placing second in 1:13.82.

Anna Hale won the 200-IM in 2:33.32 and the breaststroke in 1:17.25.

The medley relay team of Jessie Stevens, Anna Hale, Cora Dial and Karlee Avila won in a time of 2:04.75.

In the 200-free relay, the team of Dial, Hale, Paige Howard and Stevens won in 1:54.00 and in the 400-free relay, the team of Paige Howard, Johnson, Martita Sheets and Avila won in 4:31.06.

Anna Howard was second in the 100-fly in 1:20.81.

For the boys, the Tigers went 1-2 in two events. In the 50-free, with Grayson Goff winning in 22.39 and Jack Howard placing second in 26.11. In the breaststroke, Rylan Rule won in 1:08.29 and Parker Lawson placed second in 1:14.16.

Camden Perrine won the 200-IM in 2:21.43, Rylan Rule won the butterfly in 57.25, Goff won the 100-free in 49.90

The 200-free relay team of John Gascho, Perrine, Tate DeLaRosa and Goff won in 1:43.51. The 400-free relay team of Goff, Lawson, Perrine and Rule won in 3:45.71.

Tate DeLaRosa placed second in the 200-free in 2:04.39 and in the 500-free in 5:39.27. Davohn Ziesmer was second in diving with a score of 202.50. Gascho was second in the backstroke in 1:06.63.

The Lebanon medley relay team of Taylor O'Brien, John Riley, Adam Creek and Eli Taylor placed second in 2:10.69.

The Tigers are back in action on Thursday at Southmont.

Zionsville tops Westfield

The Zionsville swimming and diving teams hosted Westfield.

The boys won 131-43 and the girls won 127-59.

The boys went 1-2-3 in the IM, with Nikita Hovyadinov winning in 2:07.99, Brady Hinshaw placing second in 2:09.81 and Steven Phan placing third in 2:16. They also went 1-2-3 in the 100-free, with Will Modglin winning in 45.45, Walker Mattice placing second in 49.00 and Hinshaw placing third in 52.42.

The Eagles swept the places in the 500-free, with Will Raches winning in 4:59.07, Hovyadinov placing second in 5:19.88 and Lew Sams placing third in 5:25.35. Raches also led a 1-2-3 in the breaststroke, with Raches winning in 1:05.72, Kuntz placing second in 1:07.23 and Clay Zittel placing third in 1:10.47.

Zionsville went 1-2 in the 50-free, with Caleb Kuntz winning in 22.95 and Toby Dollens placing second in 23.41.

Malcolm Slater won the 200-free in a time of 1:47.08. Carter Miller won the backstroke in 1:04.60.

The medley relay team of Modglin, Sams, Slater and Dollens won in 1:37.90. The 200-free relay team of Raches, Slater, Gabe Berry and Mattice won in 1:27.45 and the 400-free relay team of Modglin, Mattice, Dollens and Zittel won in 3:18.78.

Gabe Berry was second in the 100-fly in 56.02.

The Eagles went 1-2 in the IM, with Maddy Akin winning in 2:16.23 and Katie Buroker placing second in 2:18.06. They also went 1-2 in the 100-fly, with Maggie Hadley winning in 1:03.06 and Kira Hunter placing second in 1:03.22. Annabel Hermacinski led a 1-2 in the 500, winning in 5:41.55, with Madeleine Moore placing second in 5:56.70.

Simmons won the 200-free in 2:03.57. Avery Christian tied for the win in the 50-free in a time of 26.60. Grace Whitfield won diving with a score of 195.10. Ava Metzger won the 100-free in 54.59 and Annabell Swiney won the backstroke in 1:01.99.

The medley relay team of Molly Simmons, Maggie Hadley, Annabel Hermacinski and Annabelle Swiney won in 1:52.31. The 200-free relay team of Katie Buroker, Swiney, Simmons and Christian won in 1:42.58 and the 400-free relay team of Swiney, Simmons, Akin and Hunter won in 3:45.71.

Katie Buroker placed second in the breaststroke in 1:11.97.

The Eagles are back in action Saturday in the HCC Meet.
