Lebanon's Town Square Social adds breakfast, 'Fat Cat Head' biscuits. More square openings

Town Square Social Restaurant and Bar on Lebanon’s town square is adding breakfast to its menu starting this week.

“Fat Cat Head” biscuits, named for their size, is one of the menu highlights along with egg plates, a breakfast burrito, waffles, omelets and more. Breakfast is scheduled 6:30-10 a.m. Thursday-Sunday.

Owners Cody McCray and Kyle Shaffer opened Town Square Social, at 145 Public Square, in September 2018. Plans were to eventually add breakfast and since the restaurant's opening, there have been “constant requests” from customers, McCray said.

The restaurant will begin serving its full menu at 11 a.m. daily. Town Square Social won’t serve food from 10-11 a.m. each day, after breakfast.

Known for its smoked offerings like chicken and wings and live music on Friday nights, Town Square Social has been central to the square’s revitalization. Adding breakfast to the menu included some kitchen equipment remodeling and menu redesign. McCray also expects some additional hiring.

McCray and Shaffer also opened Cedar City Brewery on the square in late 2022.

Other examples of resurgence on the square and surrounding area have included makeovers of The Mill at Lebanon and Capitol Theatre into multi-use event venues, specialty stores, boutiques and other eateries like Split Bean Roasting Company.

"The Capitol Theatre, the restaurants and the brewery have changed the hours of attendance with evening events and drawing crowds," Lebanon Mayor Rick Bell said. "Sundays are gaining steam as well."

"(The) city is continuing to work on infrastructure to support the growth," Lebanon City Council member Camille Burdine said. "In fact, our downtown footprint has increased farther than (the) square proper."
