LeBron James card expected to top $6 million at auction

STORY: This LeBron James trading card could fetch over $6 million at auction

The ‘Triple Logoman’ is a single-issue card

It includes patches taken from jerseys James wore

while with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers

The card was issued by Panini

as part of its 2020-21 'Flawless' collection

(Ken Goldin, Executive chairman and founder of Goldin): “As soon as Panini came out with the concept, people started setting bounties on the card. Starting out with $500,000, then a million (dollars), then 1.5 (million dollars), you know and then $2 million dollars that if anybody finds this card, this is what I’ll pay you. And the excitement of the bounties and the excitement of finding this rare card that people consider, really, the ‘Holy Grail’ of all modern cards, set off a fervor and that’s when you saw people – you know, the prices of these boxes escalating from $7,500 dollars a box to upwards of $30,000 dollars for one box.”

“Imagine Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory – everybody looking for that golden ticket. And then imagine there was only one golden ticket instead of five. That’s what this was. Literally.”

The auction for the 'Triple Logoman' closes on June 25
