LECOM Health pays $7.27 million for its 8th senior living community

LECOM Health has purchased Independence Court of Erie, its eighth senior living community in Erie County.

The Millcreek Township-based health system announced the sale Tuesday and has renamed the 54-bed facility, located at 41 W. Gore Road, as Parkside at Glenwood. The purchase price is $7.27 million, according to a deed recorded at the Erie County Courthouse on Monday.

No mortgage had been filed at the courthouse as of Tuesday morning. The facility's previous owner was listed as Independence Court Associates, under the control of NDC, LLC, whose headquarters are located near Boston.

“The LECOM Institute for Successful Aging provides the most comprehensive care for older adults in our region, and the addition of Parkside at Glenwood affords us the opportunity to serve even more residents in need of assisted living and memory care services,” said Dr. James Lin, president of the LECOM Institute for Successful Aging.
