What led to 14-year-old Jayden Jackson’s homicide? Court documents reveal more information

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — New developments in the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy reveal the teen and five others were initially taken to a man’s home where guns and alcohol were accessible, court documents show.

Documents say Gregory Michael Wisniewski of Bakersfield picked up six teenagers around midnight without their parents’ knowledge. He then reportedly brought the teens to his home on Provincetown Avenue and let them drink alcohol.

What appeared to be a gathering, turned fatal for teenager Jayden Henry Marvin Jackson.

The documents say Wisniewski left his firearm accessible for the teens on many occasions.
On that tragic night, the teens would carelessly play with the firearm, and that would end in Jackson being shot in the neck by another person.

Wisniewski was arrested the next day at 7 p.m., eight miles from his home on California Avenue.
He’s charged with five counts of child cruelty and one count of first-degree criminal storage of a firearm, meaning storing a firearm where you know a child could gain access to it, and the child causes bodily injury or death.

Wisniewski has pleaded not guilty to all these charges, and bond was set to $130,000. He is currently out on bail and scheduled to appear in court on March 22.
