LEDA hosting job fair for laid-off ASAP workers

The Lafayette Economic Development Authority and the Louisiana Workforce Commission are hosting a customer service and call center virtual job fair displaced ASAP workers as nearly 90 workers for the delivery company will be laid off Jan. 10.

The layoffs come after ASAP, which was previously named Waitr, reported a loss of $73.5 million in the third quarter of 2022.

The job fair will take place Jan. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon on the Brazen platform, which can be used on a computer, tablet or phone. Job seekers are encouraged to visit www.lafayette.org/jobfairs to register and set up a Brazen profile before the event.

The event is also open to the public.

Once registered, participants can review the participating companies and available jobs. During the event, job seekers will log in to Brazen and chat with company representatives.

Participating businesses include Gulf Coast Bank, Stuller, Acadian Total Security, American Entitlements, MediTrans, and CallsPlus.
