BOSTON – The work of Patriot Ledger photographer Greg Derr and other New England photojournalists who won awards in the Boston Press Photographers’ annual Pictures of the Year photo contest is on view in an outdoor exhibit in Copley Square.

The winning photos are displayed on 6-by-6-foot “photo cubes," which will be there through May 26 and then move to a showing at Jamaica Pond through June 11.

Derr won third place in the General News category for his shot of a not-so-normal first day of school in Rockland.

Other winners include photographers from The Enterprise in Brockton, the MetroWest Daily News in Framingham and The Associated Press.

The Boston Press Photographers Association is the nation’s oldest news photographers association. It honors the best of photojournalism in its annual contest.
