Lee County man jailed for drugs and precursors

Feb. 6—TUPELO — A Guntown man was arrested Friday after deputies reportedly found both methamphetamine and the ingredients to make the drug at his house.

Lee County deputy sheriffs and North Mississippi Narcotics Unit agents executed a search warrant on County Road 2432 in the Guntown area on Feb. 3. The officers allegedly found Steven Ray Joyner, 48, in possession of methamphetamine and firearms. The man also had precursor chemicals that could be used to manufacture methamphetamine. Joyner was arrested and charged with trafficking of a Schedule II drug, possession of precursor with intent to manufacture and possession of a firearm by a felon.

At the time of his arrest, Joyner was on parole with the Mississippi Department of Corrections for related drug charges.

During his initial appearance in Lee County Justice Court, bond was set at $100,000.
