Lee County raid nets stash of guns, money and drugs

Nov. 17—TUPELO — A Lee County couple are facing multiple felony charges after law enforcement raided their house east of Guntown Wednesday.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said deputies and North Mississippi Narcotics Unit agents executed a search warrant and an arrest warrant Nov. 16. George "Rodney" Stroud, 57, and Tammy Davidson, 55, both of County Road 2346, Guntown, were arrested at the scene.

"These arrests were generated from complaints from the neighborhood," Johnson said. "It resulted in a sizable seizure of guns, money and crystal methamphetamine, as well as hydrocodone and marijuana."

Authorities seized almost $15,000 in cash, seven handguns, two shotguns, nine rifles and ammunition for all of the weapons. The raid was the result of a months-long investigation into drug activity in the Guntown area.

Stroud was charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession of a Schedule II drug (hydrocodone) and trafficking methamphetamine. His bond was set at $100,000.

Davidson is charged with possession of methamphetamine and in being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
