Our patients, neighbors and visitors in South Lee and Collier counties will soon have a new option for cancer treatments when the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Cancer Clinic opens at the Bonita Health Center at Coconut Point.

Lee Health is hosting a special ribbon-cutting and open house event from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15, (self-guided tours and the opportunity to meet the team will be available from 11:45 a.m. until 2 p.m.), and we are excited and proud to invite our community to come and learn more about the access, services and convenience this new clinic provides.

Rapid volume growth at our infusion center in Fort Myers has that center close to functional capacity. The center also isn’t as convenient for our patients from South Lee and Collier counties. This new clinic addresses both access and convenience with a 32-chair infusion center, four individual treatment rooms and 12 exam rooms. We are proud that we will be able to provide the care our patients need closer to their homes.

This new clinic was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, as well as neighbors and friends who participated in the Pedal for Purpose event, we held in January at Lee Health Coconut Point and the luau-style pedal-a-thon held at CycleBar in July. Vital funds raised at these events helped bring this new clinic to life, too.

We are very excited about this expansion of the Lee Health Cancer Institute, and we invite you to join us for the ribbon-cutting and open house so you can see where we will provide the state-of-the-art, compassionate, exceptional cancer care close to home that our patients want, need and deserve.
