Lee Health: Education opportunities for the summer

The Healthy Life Center at Lee Health Coconut Point offers educational programs and services, yoga classes, the teaching kitchen, a walking path, a garden and more to inspire healthy habits and wellness. This summer, the Healthy Life Center team is offering one-hour virtual sessions that will be held over the lunch hour to make their programs easily accessible for people who may not otherwise be able to make it to the Lee Health Coconut Point facility.

“We thought a virtual summer series would be a great way for us to stay connected with our seasonal friends while they are back up north, and scheduling the sessions at noon allows people to spend their lunch hour focused on their health and wellness,” says Carrie Bloemers, director of education and navigation at the Healthy Life Center. “We are excited, too, about the variety of topics – including sleep and breath work, which are foundations for a healthy lifestyle.”

The Virtual Summer Series sessions will be held on the following Wednesdays from noon-1 p.m. Here is the schedule:

  • June 14 – Balancing a Healthier Lifestyle; presented by Jamie Hoover, MS, certified health coach

  • June 28 – Superior Sleep Quality; presented by Jamie Hoover, MS, certified health coach

  • July 12 – Fun in the Sun – Heat Exhaustion & Heat Stroke Prevention; presented by Syndi Bultman, RN, MS, CEN, Lee Health Trauma Center injury prevention resource coordinator
