LEET TWP. — The court-ordered recount of ballots for Leet Township commissioner has reaffirmed the victory for candidates announced as winners in the Nov. 2 election.

Four candidates were vying for two commissioners seats: Republican Rody Nash, Democrat Daniel Peluso, Republican Stephanie Turner and Democratic incumbent Donna Adipietro.

According to official election results, Nash had 284 votes, Peluso had 276 votes, Adipietro had 272 votes, Turner had 139 votes, and there were 77 non write-in votes.

As a result, six township voters sent in verified petitions asking for a recount, which was granted and held on Dec. 15.

Allegheny County Manager of Elections Dave Voye said after recounting 177 ballots in district one, and 393 in district two, all vote totals remained unchanged, certifying Nash and Peluso as the winners.
