The left has redefined everything in society, including Christianity

With the 2024 presidential primary season growing closer and closer (the Iowa Republican caucus is on Jan. 15 and the New Hampshire primary is on Jan. 23), the pace of campaigning is getting more frenetic and the tone of the anti-Trump crowd is getting shriller.

The Republican establishment, with their “presidential debates” are catering to those self-identified Republicans who seem to believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, or someone not named Trump being the party nominee next year. The GOP race now is reduced to see who wins the set of steak knives after the grand prize has been awarded.

On the Democrats' side, the big question is just how and when the party finds a way to give Joe Biden the heave-ho, and how to do the same to his totally inept vice president, Kamala Harris.

The Dems, along with the Republicans who have spent their lives living off the scraps from the Democrats' table, are in full-panic mode. Of course they won’t admit that fact, but it’s obvious from their childlike behavior. If you want to see proof, just tune in to MSNBC, CNN, The View, or any of the network TV newscasts and watch the comedy.

It’s quite common to see the liberal hosts or their pet Republicans like Mitt Romney, Chris Christie or Liz Cheney sputter and fume at the very mention of the word “Trump.” An article on the website Psych Central aptly describes this behavior as “Adult Temper Tantrums” which can occur when someone doesn’t get their way. The whole thing can be amusing to watch.

What is less amusing, and in fact, quite disturbing is the never-Trumper tactic of distorting information, education, history and even religion to justify their warped worldview. The left has done a good job of rewriting history by their control of public education, achieved through the leftist dominated teacher’s unions. They have managed to produce multiple generations of dullards who either don’t care enough about history to crack open a book and read about it (even if they could), or who believe in the distorted history that the left cranks out. Remember, it was the patron saint of today’s Democratic leftists, Karl Marx, who said “Keep people from their history, and they are easily controlled.” Mission accomplished.

The left’s approach to religion, specifically Christianity, is similar. Again, it was Karl Marx who said, “The democratic concept of man is false, because it is Christian. The democratic concept holds that … each man is a sovereign being. This is the illusion, dream, and postulate of Christianity.”

He was of course, referring to “small d” democratic principles, which can’t be compared to today’s Democratic Party authoritarian policies, but it is clear that Marx knew that for leftist authoritarian government to succeed, Christianity must go. In a country that was founded on conservative Christian principles and a country where most are professing Christians, that isn’t an easy thing to do, so, the left invented a substitute. Enter “The Social Gospel” and “Liberation Theology.”

The Social Gospel and Liberation Theology movements were both inventions of the “progressive” left in the 19th and 20th centuries and have found a home in most of the mainline (not to be confused with mainstream) Protestant churches, such as the Lutherans, Presbyterians and Episcopalians. In these churches, there has been an unofficial agreement with the left on issues such as “social justice," the LGBTQ movement, and lately, anti-Zionism, among others, despite those issues being at odds with Biblical teachings. Leftists knew that those professing Christians who seldom pick up a Bible would readily be sold on their new feel-good faith, which portrays Jesus Christ as merely a philosopher and not the Son of God.

I stumbled across a column the other day by a self-identified “Republican” which epitomized this distortion of Christianity. The writer immediately launched into a chorus of pharisee-like self-praise which was remindful of Jesus’ parable in Luke 18: 9-14 that was addressed “unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others,” by condemning those who support Trump in the same way that the bitter Hillary Clinton did in her 2016 “basket of deplorables” speech. Thus, the whole column turned from one of joy and thanksgiving to just another hateful anti-Trump screed. Sad.

Now, I’m certainly not saying that anyone supporting Trump has their salvation guaranteed, because that is a matter between that person and Christ, but I am saying that misusing the word of God to attack other Christians is, in itself, deplorable.
