Legacy Church invites community to picnic celebrating 10th anniversary

NEW PHILADELPHIA ‑ Legacy Church will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a summer picnic open to the community from 4 to 7 p.m. June 3 on the church property at 233 Front Ave. SW.

Free food and family-friendly activities are planned.

Jen Porter, director of recovery ministries, said "Legacy is celebrating a decade of introducing people to Jesus, introducing them to themselves, years of hosting recovery meetings, nearly 1,000 children who have come to summer camp free of cost, tens of thousands touched by Sunday messages in person, hundreds who have taken a deep dive into Christ-like living and the Bible through the Legacy Academy of Kingdom Living, teens supported and empowered in our youth group, babies born and children nurtured in families who know their identity and countless seminars, picnics, luncheons, game nights, worship nights, guest speakers … shared pain, shared joy, laughter, tears, healing, praising, praying and freedom."

"We’ve had three locations and now one forever home," Porter said in a prepared statement. "Come celebrate the purchase of our building. Come celebrate a decade of doing whatever we can to bring 'Heaven Here, Heaven Now.' Join us for fun, food, and fellowship, whether you attend Legacy or not. We’re here for you for many more years."The picnic will include a free meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, macaroni salad, corn on the cob, watermelon, and cookies; snow cones; a dunk tank; kids' activities including face painting and bubbles; outdoor games including corn hole and matrix volleyball; and a bounce house.
