Legal analyst looks at what's next for Trump case

STORY: Prosecutors in Manhattan allege that Trump - the first sitting or former U.S. president to face criminal charges - falsified business records to conceal a violation of election laws during his successful 2016 campaign.

Professor at William & Mary Law School Jeffrey Bellin said the indictment essentially consists of many instances of the same charge of a false business record. "My take on it is, it will all kind of rise or fall together," he said.

Manhattan District Attorney Bragg's team appears to have presented a solid case, said Cheryl Bader, an associate law professor at Fordham University in New York. The prosecutor's task will be trying to convince a jury that Trump intended to deceive the American electorate, Bader added.
