Jul. 16—Top-seeded Glenwood-Lowry advanced in the DII West Central Sub-State North/East bracket with a win over fifth-seeded Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at Marthaler Field in Glenwood.

Torii Johnson was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs for Glenwood-Lowry. Jack Larson was 1-for-4 and also scored a pair of runs and drove in two more. Jacob Blair scored twice and was the winning pitcher. He struck out five in a complete game.

Brett DeRoo, Casey Lenarz and Ethan Mueller each had hits for BBE.

The top seed in the DII West Central Sub-State South/Central bracket, Kerkhoven advanced with a victory against No. 4 Morris at Kerkhoven.

Second-seeded Madison defended its home field, beating No. 3 Granite Falls in the DII West Central Sub-State South/Central bracket.

Madison will play Kerkhoven at 5 p.m. Saturday in Granite Falls. The winner will get the North/Central's No. 1 seed in the sub-state final four.

Redwood Falls held BOLD to two hits in a five-inning victory in a DII Central Sub-State South Pod elimination game at Redwood Falls.

Ethan Louwagie got the win for Redwood Falls after striking out seven with no walks over five innings. Seven different Redwood Valley players got hits in the game.

Lane Osterfeld and Sam Sigurdson accounted for both of the Mudhens' hits. Sigurdson also took the loss after tossing the first two innings.

Redwood Falls will face Sacred Heart/MACCRAY for the South Pod championship Saturday in Sacred Heart.
