Lehigh Acres man, 33, killed in crash Wednesday morning on Interstate 75 near Luckett Road

A Lehigh Acres man died Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 near the Luckett Road overpass.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported the 33-year-old man was driving a sports utility vehicle north on the inside lane of I-75 shortly after 8 a.m.

The Patrol report said the man drove the SUV off the interstate to the right, over the grass shoulder and struck a Florida Department of Transportation camera-utility pole.

Troopers are investigating the crash.

The death is at least the 53rd on Lee County roads in 2022 according to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
