Lehigh Acres man, 63, dies after failing to stop at sign, crashing pickup with car

A 63-year-old Lehigh Acres man died Tuesday afternoon when his pickup crashed with a car in Lehigh Acres.

The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. at Woodburn Drive and Greenbriar Boulevard, according to an incident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The pickup was traveling north on Woodburn Drive, approaching the intersection of Greenbriar Boulevard, while the car was traveling west on Greenbriar, approaching Woodburn.

The pickup failed to stop and entered the intersection.

The front of the car collided with the right side of the pickup, troopers said. The pickup driver died on scene.

He's at least the 114th death on Lee County roads in 2022, according to data from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers continue to investigate this crash.
