DUNDEE – Is there anything that Bradyn Lehman can't do?

The senior is the most dangerous offensive player and one of the best defensive players for Clinton's undefeated football team.

He also kicks and punts for the Redwolves, is an exceptional blocker when he doesn't get the ball and could fill in at quarterback if the need arises.

"And he's a 4.0 student," coach Casey Randolph pointed out.

Lehman put a lot of his skills on display in leading Clinton to a 34-7 win over Dundee in a battle of unbeaten teams Friday night.

He scored four touchdowns, reaching the end zone three different ways (run, reception and interception return), ran for a 2-point conversion, gained 94 yards on 16 carries, caught 2 passes for 41 yards, booted a pair of PATs, picked off two passes and pinned Dundee inside the 10-yard line with a punt.

"He's a phenomenal young man and a very important player for us," Clinton coach Casey Randolph said. "He's a great leader."

Lehman's two interceptions were the two biggest plays of the game.

Dundee was threatening to tie the game in the second quarter with a first-and-goal at the Clinton 6 when Lehman stepped into the passing line and intercepted a pass at the goal line.

"He dropped into coverage on an under cover and the quarterback never saw him," Randolph said. "He was in the right place at the right time."

Clinton made that interception hurt even more by driving 81 yards in 9 plays for a touchdown to take a 20-7 lead at halftime. Of course, Lehman capped that drive with a TD on a 21-yard pass from Andy Fair.

Dundee got an important stop on Clinton's first possession of the second half, but a punt by Lehman pinned the Vikings on their own 9-yard line.

On their first play of the drive, Lehman alertly picked off a deflected pass and ran untouched into the end zone.

"There were really four or five plays that were the difference in this game," Dundee coach Steve Ayre said. "There was that pick (at the goal line), the big pass play and the pick-6."

All of those were plays by Lehman.

He caught a 20-yard TD pass from Fair to complete the scoring and help his team improve to 6-0.

"The guys responded very well," Randolph said. "They were 5-0 for a reason. This was a big game."

Jacob Felts, who led both teams in rushing with 106 yards on 9 carries, had Clinton's other TD on a 4-yard run in the first quarter.

Nik Shadley led the Redwolves with 7 tackles and Cole Breitenwischer intercepted a pass.

Ayre thought the final score could have looked a lot different if it wasn't for that handful of plays.

"I thought we moved pretty well at times," he said. "We threw thew the ball well."

Dundee quarterback Ryan Zanger was 14-of-25 for 121 yards and a touchdown of 31 yards to Colton Bordine in the second quarter. Braiden Whitaker caught 5 passes for 46 yards.

Cooper Buhl led Dundee with 12 tackles, Bordine had 7 and Ethan Layton and Caden Bellaire 6 each.

The big difference was on the ground where Clinton gained 360 yards to just 30 for the Vikings.

Dundee, which was off to its best start since 1992, tasted defeat for the first time this season.

"Our message to the kids was that we just need to keep playing our brand of football," Ayre said. "You learn the most about your team after the first loss. All our goals are still ahead of us."
