Leipzig and Frankfurt drop points, Union win after more fan protests

RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt dropped points in European bids while Union Berlin got an important Bundesliga victory in their fight against relegation - amid ongoing protests Saturday against a German Football League (DFL) investor.
Leipzig wasted a late penalty in a 2-2 draw at Augsburg, Frankfurt were held 1-1 by Bochum while Union beat Wolfsburg 1-0 after a long interruption because protesting fans threw objects onto the pitch.
Leipzig in fifth are three points behind number four Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League zone. Frankfurt in sixth are five points behind Leipzig.
Unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen top the table two points ahead of champions Bayern Munich going into their table topper later Saturday.
In Augsburg, Phillip Tietz gave Augsburg a 35th minute lead but Leipzig responded instantly from Lois Openda's header for his 15th season goal before Benjamin Sesko headed them ahead in the 52nd.

Union moved six points clear of the danger zone from Danilho Doekhi's header 21 minutes into first half stoppage time, following the long interruption. They are two points behind Wolfsburg who are winless in six games and have only two wins from 15 games.
