The Lemoore Tigers left no doubt that they were the best high school boys' basketball team in the West Yosemite League this past season.

Lemoore captured a 2023 WYL championship with a perfect 10-0 record. The Tigers defeated their league foes by an average margin of nearly 12 points.

And that's one of the reasons why Lemoore swept the top All-WYL awards this year.

The league's respective coaches selected Tigers senior guard DeMel Turner as the 2023 WYL Player of the Year. Turner is also an outstanding receiver/defensive back who has already signed to play college football next fall at Cal Poly.

Lemoore's Joel Sligh was named the WYL's Coach of the Year after guiding the Tigers to an unbeaten 10-0 league mark. The Tigers concluded the 2022-23 basketball season with a 21-7 record.
