Lena Dunham Lists Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Condo for $2.65 Million

Lena Dunham might be somewhat of a poster child for Brooklyn, but the writer and actress is looking to sell her former home in the borough's Williamsburg neighborhood. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom condominium, which offers stunning views of the Williamsburg and Manhattan bridges and the New York City skyline, originally hit the market in November 2018 for $3 million, and is now for sale again, this time for $2.65 million.

The loft is located in a former musical instrument factory called The Gretsch, which was converted into residential units by architect Karl Fischer and offers a doorman, library, roof deck, and bicycle storage. Dunham's light, airy apartment was recently renovated by David Bers, and boasts 13-foot ceilings, plenty of windows, and tons of built-in cabinetry for storage. In the open-plan kitchen and living room, a gas fireplace anchors the space, while white Carrara marble countertops make the kitchen feel clean and light. The master suite boasts great views, a raised platform bed, a walk-in closet, and a luxurious Carrara marble–covered master bath.

In a profile with New York magazine in November, the Camping star revealed that she has been spending more time at her home in Los Angeles, and also has an apartment in Manhattan's West Village. “My whole identity was, like, Brooklyn, and now I’m like, Thank you, Lord. I’m back amongst my tribe, which is like old people puttering around the health-food store," said the former Girls star of her new New York City digs. As for her Los Angeles place, the article describes it as a bungalow decorated with "purple snakeskin poufs, leopard-print rugs, and bright-green walls." Dunham also notes that she plastered the home with “f---ing-nutty wallpaper," and reveals that she often redecorates. It helps that her interior designer is a family friend who lives in her guesthouse.
