Lena men seriously hurt in separate crashes May 5-6

Two Lena men were seriously injured in separate crashes late last week, according to Oconto County Sheriff Office accident reports.

About 9:24 a.m. May 5, David M. Dal Santo, 61, was southbound on County V in the town of Underhill when his passenger side tires went onto the gravel.

The truck then entered the west ditch about a one-fifth of a mile south Stern Road, struck a telephone pole and overturned.

Dal Santo was partially ejected from the cab of his truck through his windshield. He was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

About 2:29 a.m. May 6, Aaron F. Fournier, 20, was southbound on County B in the town of Spruce when the 2003 Volkswagen Golf he was operating entered the east ditch just north of Luisier Lane.

The car struck a farm field driveway embankment, rolled an unknown number of times then came to rest in the ditch.

Fournier, who was ejected and found lying in the field near the vehicle, was taken by medical helicopter to St. Vincent Hospital.

Neither driver were wearing seat belts, the reports said.
