Leon's Famous Deli, The Peach Cobbler Factory and Maniac’s Restaurant will join the businesses at Charlie’s Place, on the west side of North Mt. Juliet Road near the center of Mt. Juliet, property owner Judd Sellars said.

The development was named to honor music icon Charlie Daniels, who lived in Wilson County, the property owner said. A mural that highlights Daniels, who also was very active in support of veterans, is on one of the buildings that was dedicated Wednesday. Daniels died in July 2020 at age 83.

"He was a pillar in the community, and his family is right there with them," Sellars said. "I want to honor him like he's honored all our other veterans."

The Incredible Christmas Store opened in 2021 at Charlie's Place with construction on other commercial buildings following. Dunkin’ Donuts and Jeremiah’s Italian Ice are also both open. Truleigh Scrumptious, a locally-owned cafe, was previously announced and is expected to open in the coming weeks.

The new restaurants include:

Leon's Famous Deli

The restaurant is a new concept being opened by Briley Hunter and Nick Guidry. The name is for Hunter’s late grandfather from Louisiana. He was known as Paw Paw.

Nick Guidry and wife Audra Guidry are also involved in ownership of Slow Hand Coffee + Bakeshop and Pelican & Pig in East Nashville as well as the just opened Slow Hand Bakehouse in Lebanon. They are also looking to open a future restaurant, to be named Juniper, in Lebanon off the town square.

Leon’s will focus on sandwiches from different cultures from family recipes made in-house from cured meats, Hunter said. A late summer or fall opening is estimated.

Maniac's

The Mt. Juliet location will be the first franchised Maniac’s owned by Derenik and Brittany Culbreath and will specialize in broiled and battered chicken tenders, salads and fries.

Myron and Nicole Phillips own a Maniac’s location on Seaboard Lane in Williamson County’s Cool Springs area. A fall opening is estimated for the new Mt. Juliet restaurant, Nicole Phillips said.

The Peach Cobbler Factory

A variety of cobblers with ice cream, banana puddings, cinnamon rolls, large cookies and "Pudd-N-Shakes" are among menu choices, according to the website.

The Peach Cobbler Factory has other locations in Tennessee, including one in Clarksville.
