Leprechauns drop two over the weekend

Mar. 20—The Lebanon Leprechauns dropped a pair of contests over the weekend.

Lebanon lost to Upper Midwest rivals Kalamazoo Galaxy on Friday and the Glass City Wranglers on Sunday to fall to 1-4 on the season.

On Friday, the Leprechauns fell 99-85.

After leading 13-12 midway through the first quarter, the Leprechauns saw Kalamazoo go on a 14-0 run to go up 26-13 and trailed 26-17 at the quarter.

After trailing by 16 early in the second quarter, Lebanon got as close as six before trailing 49-40 at the half.

Lebanon closed to within two by the end of the third quarter, and took a 70-69 lead on a free throw by Trey Mitchell (10 points) with 9:49 to play, but after Kalamazoo regained the lead, they used a 13-3 run late to pull away.

Alex Brown had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the Leprechauns.

Dionte Raines added 14 points, with Treshawn Gause, Antonio Davis and Alontay Gould adding 11 each.

On Sunday, the Leprechauns hosted Glass City for an afternoon contest and fell 120-119 on two free throws as time expired.

Lebanon trailed by five after a quarter and two at the half.

The Leprechauns led by six early in the third, before a 10-0 run by Glass City gave them a 70-66 lead. The Wranglers led 91-88 after three.

Down 99-93, Lebanon came back to tie the game at 106 on a 3-pointer by Antonio Davis.

Lebanon led 113-110 on a 3-pointer by Treshawn Gause, but Glass City came back to go up 118-115.

After two free throws from Lebanon's Ryan Lawrence, Glass City's Christopher Darlington missed two free throws with 19.2 seconds left.

Down one, Lebanon was able to take the lead with 4.0 seconds left on two free throws from Davis, but Darlington was fouled as time expired on a 3-pointer. He made the first two free throws to seal the win for the visitors.

Davis had 36 points, 12 rebounds and six assists to lead Lebanon. Raines had 21 points and Lawrence had 17.

Brown added 12 points and six rebounds.

Lebanon has two home games this weekend, hosting Derby City on Friday night and Medora on Saturday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on both nights.
