Let's Move Athens event planned Saturday

Aug. 3—An event designed to raise of awareness of obesity, hunger and resources to deal with those issues will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Athens Sportsplex.

The Let's Move Athens event sponsored by MTM Educational Enrichment will include three-on-three basketball, the electric slide, line dancing, a blood drive, food trucks, free haircuts, a school supplies giveaway and a walk for selected causes. The nonprofit MTM hopes to support those in the community that need help with fitness, finance, faith and family.

The walk will be between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and cost $50 for a team of 10 or $10 per person. Three-on-three basketball will start at 10 a.m. and cost $50 for a team of four. The three-point shootout entry is $20 per person. Vendors and exhibits cost $20.
