Letter to the editor: Don't say you're a Christian if you support Donald Trump

I am really confused. I was raised in the Lutheran church, was baptized and attended confirmation classes. I have tried to live my life, and at times have fallen short, with integrity and honor and have worked really hard to do the right thing.

They say that you are judged by what you do when no one is looking, and this is the code that I have tried to live by. I am confused by those who profess to be followers of Jesus of Nazareth who on a routine basis support a person who has failed to observe several of the tenets elucidated in the Ten Commandments. They are numbers 7 and 9.

This person at numerous times has borne false witness against others with comments that are lies. He also has not honored the pledge that he has given his spouses, being unfaithful with another person while married. How in the world can you believe what he says when he cannot honor the pledge given to the mothers of his children?

Look in the mirror and ask yourself, "Am I a liar? Am I an adulterer?" If the answer is yes, then by all means, support Mr. Donald J. Trump. If you want to support an individual who has only loyalty to himself, be my guest.

Do not try to use former President Bill Clinton as an excuse to justify your support of Mr. Trump. If I could have, I would have removed Mr. Clinton from the office of the president immediately for his behavior with Miss Lewinsky. Do not call yourself a Christian if you support Mr. Trump.
