As the May 2 primary approaches, Dover voters face a number of very significant choices about who they want to lead our community. I would urge my fellow residents to support Shane Gunnoe for mayor and Justin Perkowski for council president in the upcoming Republican primary.

I have worked with Shane Gunnoe and Justin Perkowski for over nine years on Dover City Council. I know both men are deeply committed to the people of our city. They have Dover residents' best interest at heart and have kept our city moving forward during some very difficult circumstances.

Shane Gunnoe as mayor and Justin Perkowski as council president have provided the strong and honest leadership our city needs. I know each of them has the required experience, values and drive to lead Dover in a positive direction over the next few years.

Now is the time for Republicans to choose who we want to lead our city into the future. I ask my fellow Republicans to support Shane Gunnoe for Dover mayor and Justin Perkowski for city council president on May 2.

John Correll, Dover city councilman-at-large
