LETTER TO THE EDITOR: It's not socialism, it's good government

John Floyd thinks some Democrats want socialism. Seems like many Republicans want a king.

President Biden seems like an honest man. He’s worked hard. He knows we much beat the coronavirus. It’s hard to tell people to take a vaccine they know nothing about, even though the majority think it’s the right thing to do.

That’s not socialism, that’s good government.

John took his many talents and worked hard through the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s. Those years, we built everything America and the world needed. By the ‘80s, we were buying all the cheap products the world could supply us with, and the American worker suffered.

Corporations started worrying more about stockholders than workers. They’ve been given large tax cuts. The steel plant closed, and Goodyear took its tax cuts and built a plant in Mexico, and closed Gadsden.

Congress has passed programs to help American workers, but instead of helping them, the other side cries “socialism.”

John said capitalism wasn’t perfect, but when we love it and want to make it better, for some reason some people have a problem with it. Why would anybody not want to help capitalism and the American worker?

It was stated that Germany, Norway and Japan had good capitalistic systems. They also have free health and dental for their valuable workers.

That’s not socialism, just good government.
