LETTER: Education is key to understanding viruses

I ask everyday that God open the eyes, ears and hearts of every citizen out there who has been swept up by the COVID misinformation teams in this country. It’s a big prayer and I don’t really expect it to happen in my lifetime, and I’m only 70.

If we citizens would just open a book or website on “virology” and educate ourselves we would have fewer and fewer people following the misinformation. Of course they first will be frightened out of their skin once they take in the truth. Viruses are scary and eerily “intelligent” in their quest for new “hosts.”

They want hosts that will not die once they’ve invaded the body, unfortunately for the virus and us, we are not a viable host for these type of viruses, so they mutate and mutate and mutate again trying to shape-shift their way into making us a living host. Scary stuff, and we obviously don’t like being told what we don’t want to hear. So let’s just listen to someone else who’s willing to tell us what we want to hear instead.

I am very afraid for us and for our beautiful country. I see no end soon and no way out.
