LETTER: Liberal views should not be the only ones presented

Letters to the editor

Editor, Register-Mail: A recent letter appearing in the R-M stated "Letters to editor shouldn't be pulpit for religious beliefs." We live in times of political and spiritual upheaval.

God's truth is rejected by many who do not want to apply it to their lives. Those who declare their faith often face ridicule. It is better to trust in the word of God than to have confidence in mankind. Letters to the editor are opinions just as are articles written by biased columnists. They can deal with political or religious subjects.

Editorials do try to sway readers and get them to think. You do not have to read them. That is a choice, an option, and sometimes the reader's loss. It is obvious that the "pulpit" letter writer is averse to my opinions and is on the opposite side of the fence. We need to pay more attention to God's word and chisel away at the things he considers abhorrent as he states in the Bible. It is apparent that our society needs to pay more attention to "pulpit" preaching wherever it presents itself.

I believe that corporate mainstream media has a political agenda and needs to give equal time to opposing views. I appreciate tThe Register-Mail allowing my views on differing subjects to be published over the years and I have a substantial audience that tells me they appreciate it also. Both "pulpit" and conservative viewpoints need more voice in the media. The "woke" cancel culture liberal views should not be the only viewpoints presented.

Side note: Interpreting the Bible is in fact the responsibility of every Christian as they ask for discernment from God. We all need to build a deep and formidable foundation in scripture if we want our faith to be steadfast and affect the world we live in. Violence, bloodshed and mayhem are predominate in our culture because our God is not!

Side note: Much in our society brings sadness. Much of what happens is because of the choices we make. Our time on earth is a gift and how we use that gift is up to us. Ultimately, our purpose is to share the gift Christ gave us and pass it to others. His salvation is our ultimate gift. Your choice! — Thomas Mosher
