Letter: Montgomery needs a re-enactment of the dock brawl

Every year on the occasion of the shoot out at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, there is a re-enactment and celebration of the gun fight between the Erps, the McLaurys and the Clantons that took place in 1881. People died and people were wounded. Even so, it is a historical event that draws thousands every year with its re-enactment.

I suggest it is not too early not to plan for a re-enactment of "The Conflict between the Harriot II and the pontoon boat people from Selma."

You have the chair swinger, the aquaman, the tossing of the hat. The events are endless.

A re-enactment is too good to pass up. Perhaps some Ray Charles or Bellamy Brothers singing in the background. No one dies, some act like fools. I'd even join in as the old white guy standing around wondering what is going on.

Come on Montgomery, time to make lemonade out of lemons.

Hugh Ahmann, Montgomery
