LETTER: Mother cat, litter need rescuing. Any shelters taking?
Are there any local animal organizations willing to offer their services to rescue a stray mother cat and her litter and give them shelter?
The mother has taken up home in a neighborhood yard for quite some time and is producing litters frequently. These kittens are "living" out in the open and shivering in this cold weather. It's sad to see.
I have contacted area shelters for the past couple of weeks but they all say they are not accepting cats right now, due to overcrowding. I understand that, but something needs to be done, and soon.
