Letter: What's going on up in D.C.?

Dear Editor,

I am old enough to remember the 1960s when Democrats were the crazy ones and Republicans were the adults in D.C. Now, it’s the other way around. The “Crazy Eights led by Gaetz” caused a three-week government shutdown while freshman Sen. Tommy Tuberville was holding America’s military readiness hostage over his personal, one-man vendetta. The U.S is supposed to be a democratic republic. However, in this case, it took only nine misguided public officials to inflict that much damage on the rest of us.
