Letter: Why is Oz running for Senate? Will he renounce Turkish citizenship if elected?

John Fetterman deserves your vote for Senator on November 8th. John has devoted his life to helping his fellow man. When his friend died, John decided his goal was to help people. He joined Americorps, started a GED program when he was Mayor of Braddock, helping rebuild the community, creating jobs.

John has not spent his life on TV selling remedies for weight loss and miracle cures which would have made him rich like Oz. He doesn’t own 8 homes or property in Turkey, a country run by an authoritarian leader. He lives in a converted garage, does not live in the residence provided for the Lieutenant Governor but encourages local disadvantaged children to use the pool there.

He's a lifelong Pennsylvanian and does not have dual citizenship, did not serve in the military of a foreign country or vote in a foreign election like Oz who said he will renounce his Turkish citizenship IF he wins the election. To what country does Oz’s allegiance lie??? Why is he running for Senate in Pennsylvania – money? Power? Perhaps his allegiance is to Turkey whose human rights record is dismal.

Oz said he would crack down on “illegal” immigration, yet his family business received the highest fine in history for employing undocumented workers. He will likely vote to reverse bills Biden has signed to help average Americans, put Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block and raise prescription drug prices.

Oz continuously mocked Fetterman’s stroke. John believes everyone should be treated equally with respect, women should make decisions about their healthcare, birth control and supports LGBTQ protections and criminal justice reform.

Please vote for John Fetterman on Nov. 8th. He has Pennsylvania’s interests in mind and is an asset to our State.
