Last Friday’s Enquirer had an article about Democratic Ohio governor candidate Nan Whaley calling out Republican Gov. Mike DeWine on gun control.

DeWine’s spokeswoman, Tricia McLaughlin, stated that DeWine is “taking action to get guns out of the hands of criminals.”

This is, in my opinion, another example of the spreading of a complete falsehood on the campaign’s part to win reelection.

DeWine has signed nothing but bills into law to make it easier to get firearms into the hands of not only criminals, but anyone who might want to harm others!

1) Concealed carry permits no longer needed.

2) Stand your ground laws.

3) Firearms OK in bars as long as you don’t consume alcohol. (Sure.)

DeWine did a great job during the pandemic, but please don’t have the hypocrisy to say he is tough on guns, as he just panders to the lobbyists of the gun companies and cannot stand up to the Republican Legislature.

He promised after the Dayton massacre to do something, but so far has backtracked on his commitment.

We had nine people shot in Over-the-Rhine on Sunday. Thank God no one was killed. Maybe next time we won’t be so lucky.

I don’t think I am the only one who wants something – anything – done!
