Enough of MAGA Republicans

Re: Mark Savalla’s Aug. 26 letter, “Need to elect MAGA Republicans”:

Mr. Savalla’s MAGA version of Republicanism forgets that RINOs were originally so-named by Tea Party insurgents who felt the GOP was not paying enough attention to the ridiculous call by Grover Norquist to balance the federal budget.

Whether or not Mr. Savalla realizes it, his version of MAGA-ism is based on Trump’s Big Lie that he won an election he lost. Enough of MAGA, already. Get the facts, not your “facts.”

I await another harsh and peculiar letter from the Mystery Grouch, and offer a quick word of thanks to those other writers who mentioned they also receive his anger.

Gorell best choice for supervisor

Jeff Gorell is the only legitimate candidate and someone with the experience necessary to give the District Supervisor seat the justice it deserves.

We strongly believe that the District Supervisor for Ventura County is one of the most important elections in history during these perilous times of government overreach in our society. Jeff’s opponent believes that she works for the governor and not the voters of the county that she represents, which she confidently stated in the Supervisor debate leading up to the primary.

This precarious way of thinking shows that she is not in touch with the reality of the times and the voice of the people, which leads to misdirected goals. Jeff Gorell, the proud father of two boys ages 12 and 8, is the candidate of choice for us. He is willing to stand up for us and understands how our local government actually works. We encourage you to research his remarkable accomplishments for your reference.

Jeff will advocate to protect the zoning codes to sustain the property value in our neighborhoods, strive to keep our beaches and parks from turning into homeless encampments, while addressing the physical, mental and economic wellbeing of the individuals who are without shelter, but he will enable them to attain a new lease on life. Jeff has extensive knowledge and expertise regarding the homelessness crisis, from the local to the federal level. This will help reduce the crime rate and promote safety in the streets of Ventura County all while supporting local law enforcement.

Unlike his opponent, Jeff Gorell knows that he is a conduit for the people to the governor, not a subordinate. When you don’t know who you work for, you cannot perform your job efficiently or effectively.
