Lemmings...

I find it very ironic that zealots like yourself have called people who don't vote for them "sheeple."

You are mindlessly following your leader over a cliff and leaving nothing behind, much like a lemming. A mindless, fearful animal.

Unfortunately, you and yours are costing us all money making changes that will be erased next year when you lose in the election.

There is a lot of voter remorse in Ottawa County. Just like those lemmings, your "Impact" will be relegated to a historic footnote.

Learn to moderate yourself, start thinking and work for all of your constituents and it might not be too late to get reelected.

Proud of Adeline Hambley's consummate professionalism

At all times Adeline Hambley has conducted herself in a professional manner and with intelligence and knowledge concerning the Ottawa County Health Department.

The anti-vaxxers and anti-science members of Ottawa Impact on the board do not have the best interests of the people of Ottawa in mind. They do not care about public health. This action is appalling.

Cosby has no idea how government actually works

For several years, I was the clinical director at Ottawa County Community Mental Health, and my job description required me to attend CMH Board meetings to provide a clinical perspective and background for board members to use in their deliberations. I attended this week’s meeting as a private citizen with knowledge and expertise to help assure that they understand the importance of programs like the Momentum Center, which provides a safe and nurturing place for social and recreational activities to enhance the physical, mental and emotional health of the people CMH exists to serve and to help the board understand that spending our millage dollars on such programming actually saves spending on clinical services.

The numerous Momentum Center members who spoke were so much more eloquent than I, but I was happy to support them.

Gretchen Cosby seemed blindsided by all the people there to speak for Momentum Center. She had sent an email to her fellow CMH Board members suggesting they not renew funding to Momentum Center for the fiscal year starting Oct. 1. I was startled to hear Gretchen say she thought her email would be private and she was angry someone had leaked it.

Really, Gretchen?! After all we have been through this year, do you really think it is appropriate to do The People’s business out of The People’s sight?

I expect to see even more people at the October CMH board meeting when the funding you pulled will again be discussed. Thank you, Gretchen, for helping empower them.
