Sanders’ state has crime problem

I was watching Sarah Huckabee Sanders whine about crime in her “rebuttal” to the State of the Union address.

Sara, as is true of America, needs to be reminded that Arkansas is the fourth-most crime-infested violent state in the union. Why? Because for decades it has been subject to the bloody mismanagement of Republican policies and incompetence.

The numbers don’t lie. Sara and the RNC unfortunately do.

Cartoon was inflammatory

I was appalled to see the Plante cartoon on Jan. 31, indicating that there are “Jewish” lasers attacking the U.S. With the current climate of escalating violent attacks on Jews and synagogues I am distressed that USA Today newspapers chose to publish this inflammatory cartoon. There maybe some people who will see this cartoon and actually believe Jews are going to launch “Jewish” space lasers and will attack Jewish institutions and synagogues.

I urge USA Today editors to modify your content criteria and prohibit publishing all opinion letters, cartoons, and guest opinion articles that contain any inflammatory prejudicial reference to any race, religion or ethnic group. Our country has become too polarized. We should all reduce the level of negativity in our speech and actions and do more to promote respect and acceptance of all people.
