Biden should impeach his VP

In Kathleen Parker's column about Kamala Harris being sidelined (R-G, Nov. 21), it is richly poetic that Commander in Chief Joe Biden looked for diversity in a VP and captured incompetence. Harris cannot replace a VP like George H.W. Bush because she has not the skill level or accomplishments. He was ambassador to China and CIA director. Bush was loyal to President Reagan and saluted whilst performing admirably with great knowledge of the political issues at hand.

Harris has been wanting in knowledge of foreign policy, immigration, taxes and even unity with the party of opposition. Biden and his staff have become concerned, according to a recent CNN report. She would like to run for president someday, which she already tried after withdrawing from the competition. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is much more experienced and savvier than Harris with less bite, though Pelosi’s issues are not exactly what America wants.

Is it not time for Biden to think long and hard about what to do with such a lightweight VP? Maybe Biden can impeach her as the Republicans do not have the votes at this time.

The pain of daylight saving time

Daylight saving is a pain.

Why do we need to change the time when we are going to just change it back in March? Arizona doesn’t have daylight saving. Its clocks continue to tick while we change ours. It makes me feel like I have jet lag. I feel sluggish all day and sometimes the next day. It ruins my day because a lot of the time I have to do homework and I no longer feel motivated to do it.

Being mentally tired on Sunday and then having to go to school the next day is tough. I feel like I lose two Sundays out of the year, which doesn’t sound like a lot but it adds up quickly. It would be better if we could to let our clocks tick like Arizona’s.

Daylight saving should stop.

I can’t drive … 25!

Last winter, the speed limit on Hunsaker Lane off of River Road changed from 35 mph to 25. Even though it has been almost a year since this change, it still bothers me every time I drive home, especially from school.

I go to Marist High School, so I already have to deal with 5 o’clock traffic on the Beltline after a long day of school and practice. So, when I want to get home as quickly as possible that road irritates me. Sometimes I forget the speed limit changed and I find myself going 40 mph, or if I am going the speed limit, I get tailgated. So, I would really appreciate it if the speed limit could be raised back to 35 so I can get home peacefully.
