Plenty of reasons to vote Biden

In a letter on Sept. 24, Herbert Kerrigan asked Joe Biden for one reason why he should vote for him. Joe Biden is not available, so I will take a shot.

You should vote for Joe Biden because you support democracy. Because you support the Constitution. Because you support the peaceful transfer of power. Because you believe in freedom of the press.

You should vote for Joe Biden because you want a president who does not disparage POWs, consider our armed forces to be killers, think that the United States is no better than Russia, worship dictators, envy the way North Koreans jump whenever Kim gives the order, try to get state officials to falsify election results, try to blackmail foreign leaders into providing false evidence against their political opponents, or call for terminating the constitution just because it’s in the way of his maintaining power.

You should vote for Joe because you are a real patriot. You know real patriotism is not waving flags, singing songs, reciting pledges, or promising retribution. You know that real patriotism lies in supporting the rights of all your fellow Americans. You should vote for Joe Biden because you know he supports the Constitution, democracy, and the rule of law.

And because you know that inmate PO1135809 doesn’t and never did.

Gaetz a reptile in Trump aquarium

Hey there all you MAGA political science experts. Your dear “Congress Critter” Matt Gaetz just blew himself up and has become the reptile in the Trump Party aquarium. It was so bad that when he went to speak, he had to use the podium on the Democratic side of the aisle. His clown show buddies would not let him use their MAGA podium.

So, what you say? Well, Matt you see, has never been one to bring home the bacon to his district. Now he is going to be lucky to keep his seat, let alone bring any largess back home. Your cherished man has created the biggest blunder in the history of Congress. He was responsible for taking down the speaker of the House.

This fiasco, perpetrated upon the American people, is the sole responsibility of the most lying, irresponsible, Fascist leaning, Trump MAGA cultist gang of know-nothings in the history of our country. Trump tells Mathew to burn it down, and he does. Trump tells his party, “Shut the country down,” so they try.

The Democrats saved the nation from a disaster last Saturday, by voting with McCarthy. And what does he do? Goes on the Sunday talk shows and tries to blame the Democrats for the possibility of a shutdown. Then Matt voted with the Democrats to remove the speaker.

So go along now all you ‘MAGA Wizards’ and vote for your hero for governor. What a joke.

Don’t blame pitbulls for violence

Gov. DeSantis you are the best. You not only care for your people, but also for animals, who are dear to my heart. Pitbulls have such a bad rap, due to the evil people who get them. There are kind owners who raise them as family. Then, unfortunately, there are evil owners. Those who raise them to be mean.

Any dog, big or small, they have no choice on who adopts them. They cannot end the abuse. Just like a child that is trapped in abuse that they cannot escape by their parents. The poor dogs have no choice either. Remember the show The Little Rascals? Petey, their dog, was a pitbull. He was sweet and well loved by the audience.

Bad people who use them for their sick benefit of fighting them for money are the root of all evil. Then they say, “Whoa, we got to feed it, take it to the vet?” They are discarded, shot, and killed horribly. Treated like trash.

Thank you, Gov. DeSantis, for your concern over pitbulls and all large dogs. Their size is their misfortune. They only want love, kindness and care, like all animals. Not abuse, such as starvation, being beat consistently, etc. People are horrendous, not the pitbulls.

Hear from our readers: Letters: Nothing Christian about Trump, and nothing Christ-like about supporting him

PNJ great source of useful info

Thank you for continuing to be a source of useful and important information our area. Tom McLaughlin’s article Oct. 8 on “Six acres of trash” is a prime example, informing us of something about our area of Northwest Florida that most of us would never become aware of.

Many reasons to support Trump

The wonderful thing about this country is nobody has to explain their voting preference. Obviously, Mike Shipp (Letters, Oct. 7, 2023) doesn’t realize this, but I will humor him.

I support President Trump because he is against murdering babies in the womb. He loves the country and, unlike Biden, doesn’t demonize those who did not vote for him. He passed a cognizance test, which is something Biden can’t do, and he hasn’t sold his soul to the Chinese Communist Party nor fomented child and sex trafficking as Biden has.

My opinions are based not on what Fox says, but what I have seen and heard from Biden’s own mouth. Trump supporters do not want a civil war! What we want is for the left to quit trying to resurrect the last one! Biden accuses 75 million people of being an “existential threat” and “domestic terrorists.” Doesn’t this sound like someone wanting division and war?

I don’t believe you are the enemy, just misguided and sanctimonious.

Stop questioning others’ hearts. Get a life and stop obsessing about why I support Trump and instead pray for our declining country. God will understand that. By the way, we could all strive to be more Christ-like.

Great stories found at Waffle House

Recently, my husband and I had breakfast at the Waffle House on U.S. 29 near W Street. Our server wore a name tag that stated she had served over 50,000 customers. My husband was impressed that Waffle House kept up with that type of information.

In talking with her, we learned she has been with the restaurant for 11 years, at the same location. She then pointed out her fellow workers and talked about how long each of them has been with Waffle House.

We were absolutely fascinated, listening to them talk about being a family for each other. They know their customers by first name, what they eat, their kids, and grandkids. I was so impressed with each of them and what they had to say. A 30-plus year employee even stated that Waffle House saved her life.

I strongly feel the residents of our great city need to read their story. It would be such a refreshing change to what we usually read. Not only does it say a lot for these employees, but Waffle House must be doing something right that their staff is so loyal to them.

This could be a lesson in there for someone.

Bluffs article shed light on issue

I would like to compliment Jim Little for the excellent article about the closing of the Bay Bluffs park/access.

This type of informative reporting benefits our community and helps us understand better the situation so that we can form an intelligent and informed opinion. Kudos to Mr. Little.

As someone who spent most of her childhood in close proximity to the Bluffs, I appreciated his taking the time to review the history and the circumstances that have led to an obviously difficult but wise decision from the mayor.

Keep up the good work.
