Trump’s emotional intelligence

Back in the early 1900s, Alfred Binet advanced the concept of intelligence by positioning a French pupil’s measured mental age over her or his chronological age. This came to be known as intelligence quotient or IQ. As Binet’s contributions were further developed, the practice of multiplying the quotient by 100 began. Thus, a 7-year-old with a mental age of 7 has an IQ of 100. This is considered average or at the 50th percentile.

Although expressing intelligence as a quotient makes no sense for adults, for example, we still use IQ and intelligence as synonyms. But what if we used a quotient to express emotional intelligence?

Donald Trump’s chronological age is 77. Emotionally he acts like a schoolyard bully. The most recent example is taunting the American World Cup soccer team over its loss to Sweden. His name-calling is almost daily. This month he called special counsel Jack Smith “deranged” and the former governor of New Jersey a “fat pig.” How many adults do this? None that are respected as mature or emotionally intelligent.

If we estimate typical schoolyard bullies to be age seven, and use a quotient to determine Trump’s emotional intelligence we would calculate 7 over 77 and multiply by 100. This comes out to be 9.

Do we want an emotionally handicapped person leading our country?

Trump has nothing to prove

The CDT’s Aug. 6 edition included an opinion letter written by Ken Manno of Boalsburg. It’s a letter that I think all who care about justice should read.

In his letter, Manno claims that Trump supporters should be thrilled with the idea that these indictments will finally give Trump a chance to prove his innocence. That’s right, Manno has already convicted Trump based on a series of farcical and politically motivated indictments.

Obviously, Manno pays too much attention to leftist media sources (CNN, MSNBC, NY Times. etc.). Had he visited a conservative media outlet, he’d know that Trump doesn’t have to prove anything. The way our system works, at least in theory, a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, not vice versa.

Trump will ultimately prevail. However, in their zeal to indict and convict Trump, Manno and his leftist buddies have only convinced objective thinkers that the ideal of a fair and impartial justice system in the USA no longer exists. Lavrentiy Baria, Stalin’s chief of the secret police, summed it up best when he once proclaimed, “Show me the man, and I’ll find you the crime.”

The only way to fight this injustice is to support Trump — both financially and at the ballot box. Despite the Russian collusion hoax (perpetrated by the FBI), and two unjust impeachments, Trump proved to be an effective leader throughout his first term. He’ll repeat that success in his second term as President of the USA.

Morality of Christianity

Many Americans believe that this country needs to be guided by the absolute morality of Christianity. But consider how Christianity dealt with probably the most serious problems to face American, slavery and segregation. Prior to the Civil War both Northern and Southern white Christians believed that God was on their side, with the Northern God opposing slavery and the Southern God in favor of slavery. After the Civil War many southern white Christian ministers taught that white people were the chosen of God, Black people were cursed, and God supported racial segregation. Morality based on Christian religion did not provide guidance to solve the problems of slavery and segregation. The solutions depended on individuals, secular organizations, African American churches, and government. The Southern Baptists did not officially renounce slavery and segregation until 1995.
