Level 3 risk of tornadoes, severe storms for parts of metro Atlanta Friday

The hot dry air that we’re seeing Thursday is going to change as a cold front moves in around midday Friday.

Around lunch time on Friday, a line of storms will start moving through northwest Georgia and start making its way across the metro.

The timing of when you could see storms in your area, throughout the evening on Channel 2 Action News.

“As it comes through, its going to bring very heavy rain, but also the potential for some damaging wind gusts and large hail,” said Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz.

Counties in the southwest Atlanta metro area are under a Level 3 risk for storms.
