Levelland middle school student's design for sale at United Supermarket

A Levelland Middle School student's artwork has hit the shelves at a supermarket as part of a Keep Levelland Beautiful campaign.

On Thursday, United Supermarket, 511 College Ave. in Levelland, began a reusable bag initiative. The bag, which costs $5, features a design made by middle school student Sophia Koubek. The design includes a pair of cowboy boots, a bull rider and "Don't Mess With Texas."

"We are so excited to start this reusable bag initiative with the Keep Levelland Beautiful committee and the Levelland Chamber of Commerce," said Kris Phillips, store director for United Supermarkets. "We hope this is the start of a really great program to not only help us all remember to keep our community beautiful but also recognize some of the wonderful art our students create."

People can purchase the bags at Levelland's store. Koubek's artwork is part of the city's campaign to Keep Levelland Beautiful.
